TikTok is expanding its revamped Creator Fund, called Creativity Program Beta, outside the United States. The program is currently available to eligible creators in Brazil, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. The company began testing the new program with selected creators in February.
This new program essentially replaces TikTok's Creator Fund and is designed to generate higher revenue and unlock more real-world opportunities for creators. To be eligible for this program, creators must be at least 18 years old, have at least 10,000 followers and at least 100,000 views in the past 30 days.
The company told TechCrunch in an email that eligible creators who post more than one minute of high-quality original content could earn up to 20 times the amount offered by the previous Creator Fund. Ta.
Once a creator enrolls in a new program, they will not be able to return to the Creator Fund. TikTok has not said whether the Creativity Program will completely replace the Creator Fund, but it is possible that TikTok will retire the Creator Fund once the Creativity Program leaves the beta stage.
TikTok has previously said that the rewards formula for the Beta Creativity Program is designed to provide higher average gross revenue for qualifying video views.
The Creativity Program is part of TikTok's suite of monetization tools, including LIVE subscriptions and TikTok Pulse. In addition to monetization features through tips and gifts, the company also has a new series feature that allows eligible creators to submit content behind a paywall. The series allows eligible creators to post a collection of their premium content behind a paywall and make it available for viewers to purchase for access. A series can contain up to 80 videos of up to 20 minutes each.
