Organic butter startup All Things Butter has closed a six-figure pre-seed funding round in preparation for a retail launch in November.
All Things Butter Co-Founder Thomas Straker
Chef Thomas Straker and his best friend Toby Hopkinson founded the brand with the aim of disrupting the dairy industry.
Mr Straker, who runs London restaurants Strakers and Flatbread, explored ways to enhance recipes with butter in a series of social media videos filmed during lockdown.
The brand is currently partnering with Blue Valley Farm in Somerset. The company uses traditional butter-making methods, churning twice to create “the perfect texture and extra creaminess.”
Four SKUs of All Things Butter will be available to consumers on the DTC website from November, with anonymous supermarket listings also supported and 1% of sales going to support the UK farming industry.
The pre-seed funding of over £530,000 will be used to provide working capital to launch the brand and to add additional employees to the team.
Mr Hopkinson, who previously served as head of growth at CBD drinks brand Tripp, said: “With the retail listing confirmed in November and the addition of a fantastic investor, All Things Butter has an exciting future ahead. The time will come,” he said.
“We've been working day and night perfecting our fresh flavor formulations, and we can't wait to see our products in stores and in the hands of consumers.”
Hopkinson also led a pre-seed funding round with advisor Gavin Yule, with support from other high-net-worth individuals.
