Pro-Christie group launches six-figure ad buy in New Hampshire that hurts Trump, Biden

A super PAC supporting former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's Republican presidential bid made six-figure ad buys for President Biden and former President Trump in New Hampshire on Tuesday.

The Hill was the first news outlet to report on the deal, running a 30-second ad titled “Seven Trillion.” The spot will air on Granite State broadcast, cable and digital platforms.

The ad shows Mr. Christie on stage at last week's debate, attacking Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden over the debt they accumulated under the Trump administration.

In a video of the second presidential debate held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, Mr. Christie said, “None of them were willing to tackle the hard questions, they were just trying to get ahead.'' I just want to keep going,” he said.

“Yet we're not getting any answers because Joe Biden is hiding in his basement. And Donald Trump is hiding behind the walls of a golf club and we're all here to answer them.” As I said, I'm not going to show up here and answer questions.”

The move to advertise in New Hampshire is consistent with a strategy being used by the Christie campaign and its allies. A poll released last week by the St. Anselm College Research Center of the New Hampshire Institute of Politics placed Mr. Christie in third place, behind former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley and Mr. Trump.

Christie is arguably the most vocal anti-Trump candidate in the Republican primary. The former Trump ally has made headlines during the campaign, appearing frequently on cable news and slamming the former president during debates.

During last week's debate, Christie specifically criticized President Trump for not attending the forum, calling him “Donald Duck.”

“You ignore these things. So I'll tell you what happens, you keep doing it, no one here will call you Donald Trump anymore, I We're going to call you 'Donald Duck,''' Christie said to the camera.
