Washington DC – The National Association of Manufacturers has launched a six-figure broadcast and cable TV advertising campaign ahead of a settlement bill that could threaten manufacturing innovation and competitiveness. This campaign is calling on senators to oppose government price controls that undermine the development of life-saving medicines and the livelihoods of the manufacturing workers across America who provide them.
Jay Timmons, President and CEO of NAM, said: “We are committed to our continued commitment to developing lifesaving treatments for diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's disease and responding to health crises. A crippling government pricing system is never the answer.” “At a time when manufacturers are already facing extraordinary economic pressures, the Senate should focus on making the industry more competitive, without undermining it. We urge you to vote “no” on the settlement and stand with the manufacturers and hardworking Americans who are essential to fighting this pandemic and finding future cures. ”
