LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Two tourists at a Las Vegas Strip resort made more than $450,000 on Dec. 12, or “Day 12,” according to a Caesars Entertainment representative. announced that they had made a profit.
The back-to-back winnings began at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday when John Chisena, who was visiting Las Vegas from Atlanta, won $100,000 while playing video poker at Horseshoe Las Vegas.
Just six hours later, at 8:30 p.m., Kevin McCarthy (probably not that Kevin McCarthy) won an even bigger jackpot. While McCarthy was playing his poker at Planet Mississippi for the first time, he hit his “Mega Progressive Jackpot” at the Hollywood Resort & Casino and won a winnings of $350,369.
Both players are members of Caesars Rewards and join past winners who made headlines in 2023. That includes a California resident and a local player in the Las Vegas Valley, who most recently won his $1 million-plus at Face Up Pai Gow Poker at Cromwell in November. Some visitors have won more than $200,000 at Henderson's Sunset Station casino and more than $100,000 on video slots at Santa Fe Station.
