Listen till the end to hear LeeAnne's predictions for what will happen in 2024.
Listen here for all the insights.
build your personal brand
LeeAnne and Leanna begin their conversation by discussing the importance of: Build and nurture relationships. These relationships between publishers and managers, and customers and publishers, are critical to the affiliate ecosystem.
In fact, one of the most important lessons for affiliate managers is that affiliate marketing is a people-focused business. As Lee-Ann points out, “Affiliate marketing is a human-focused business, even though emerging technologies such as AI are making the day-to-day tasks of running programs more automated and time-efficient. , and that will never change.”
Attending industry events is also an effective way to build your personal brand. These events provide an opportunity to meet potential partners face-to-face and develop meaningful relationships that will benefit you in the long term.
Leanna explains, “Knowing your brand makes it easier to connect with the people you want to work with by understanding exactly who you are.”
know your numbers
Leanne explains: why The existence of affiliate programs and their purpose. Because for some clients and some brands, having an affiliate program is about brand awareness. Having an affiliate program means selling products that need to be migrated to other digital media and channels. Utilizing an affiliate program can be a way to reduce your paid media costs and his SEO costs by leveraging affiliate partners to help you grow. There are so many reasons why businesses start affiliate programs. ”
Lee-Ann summed it up perfectly. “If you, as an affiliate manager, don’t understand what your goal KPIs and outcomes are when working with all these publishers… how can you expect your affiliates to perform for you?” Do you have it?”
Never discount small affiliates
The third lesson for affiliate managers is to never underestimate smaller affiliates. This is a lesson particularly close to LeeAnne's heart, having met many major publishers early in her career and now watching some of them launch their businesses onto the Nasdaq and other public exchanges. .
Never forget that successful companies always start small. Your journey towards success together will create some of the most memorable moments in your career as an affiliate manager. Program affiliates don't necessarily just promote your brand, so be aware of what opportunities exist when talking to smaller partners. Everyone has to start somewhere, and you never know what a relationship will look like in a few years.
