hello everyone! Let me introduce myself. My name is Sasha Fahi. She is currently a senior at Chapman University where she is majoring in Strategy and Corporate Communications and minoring in Entrepreneurship. This fall semester, I had the opportunity to work with her as a social media marketing intern at Amp and Go. Amp and Go is a social media marketing company that specializes in being the middle ground between brands and influencers. In other words, Amp and Go acts as a matchmaker that helps influencers connect with brands, and in return allows these influencers to promote brands more effectively if they have similar platforms. It will be. Their services help both. With the help of influencers, brands and businesses can increase awareness of who they are and reach a broader target audience. You can get paid by promoting.
I found this internship through a job posting on LinkedIn over the summer. I was immediately interested in the role and position the company was looking for. When I saw the description of the type of employee they were looking for, I felt my personality and skills made me a good fit for the role. I applied immediately after that, and luckily the process was easy. I uploaded my resume and filled out my application. Then one of the girlfriends of the Amp and Go recruiters contacted me and asked for an interview. Since it will soon be my first internship, I wasn't as nervous about the interview as I expected. A few weeks after the interview, I received an email offering me the job. Although this internship was a remote and unpaid position, I was enthusiastic and interested in becoming part of the team, especially as I hope to pursue a career in marketing in the future. I immediately knew that I wanted to use my knowledge and experience to take on this role.
As a social media marketing intern, some of my primary responsibilities were to participate in calls and meet with my supervisor and fellow interns to explore new methods and skills to look for when finding talent. Our supervisor told us what types of talent and influencers to search for, and gave us helpful strategies to make our search easier. Every day when I wasn't on the phone, I was tasked with finding talent through various social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, and Twitter. I was asked to find 50-100 influencers who had to have a certain number of followers, a certain number of views, and fit the brand in a certain way. After receiving the action plan for the day, find the given people and criteria and enter them into an Excel spreadsheet. Enter the following information: average views, contact information, talent names, and social media links for these influencers. It’s up to managers and higher-level individuals to reach out to these influencers and connect brands with talent.
One of the most valuable things I learned during my internship at Amp and Go was how important it is to be organized and have good and effective communication with co-workers and supervisors. As I fielded work calls and organized the talent I found in Excel sheets, I learned how to organize my work and date everything so it didn't get mixed up with other data. I also learned the value and importance of good relationships with colleagues, fellow interns, and most importantly, my supervisor. My boss was extremely helpful whenever I asked for direction or had any questions about how to handle a project. I realized that it is important to speak up and ask questions when you are unsure about something. Finally, I realized how important it is to build good relationships with my fellow interns. By doing so, we can all support each other and remind each other that we are in this together.
In conclusion, I worked at Amp and Go as my first internship and had a good experience. Even though I was remote and worked from my own computer, the time, experience, and work I put in helped prepare me for my future career. It was a good experience for my first internship. Because the company culture was mutually kind and patient, and everyone was willing to work together. That was really fun. The advice I would give to students who are wondering or wondering if they should intern at a company like Amp and Go is, “Intern.” Since this was my first internship, I was worried that there wouldn't be many internships, but I'm glad I actually participated, and I was able to learn a lot from it. Not only did it help me expand my network, but I was able to gain real-world experience that better prepared me for the career I want to work in. I also learned about myself in the process and now have a better grasp and understanding of myself. What field do you want to work in?
