ANAHEIM, Calif. — Thirteen fighters competing at UFC 298 — more than half of the hard-fought competitors — had publicly announced paydays of at least six figures, with Alexander Volkanovski leading the way.
California State Athletic Commission executive director Andy Foster released a full list of fighters' purses to MMA Junkie on Saturday, and the amounts reflect only publicly disclosed payouts and do not include non-contractual bonuses, sponsor payouts or discretionary bonuses.
In addition to Volkanovski, who received a flat $750,000, fellow headliner Ilya Topuria also received a flat $350,000 prize. The other fighters' published prize money was based on box office takings and first place prize money.
Topuria knocked out Volkanovski in the second round at Honda Center to win the featherweight title.
