The Crown at Blackheath will reopen at 5pm with a brand new look.
The pub's general manager, Jan Müllerson, is excited to reopen to the public and show off the changes that have been made.
He said: “The pub was truly a pub for drinkers.
“We had a lot of drinking patrons, but the food offering wasn't that great. So we really saved up our money and focused on drinks and food.
“It’s a very traditional, classic London pub.
“We spent a lot of time designing it so it wasn’t too flashy or too sassy.
“We used a lot of brass and deep colors, which should make everyone feel comfortable.”
The new and improved pub has a rich green and red color scheme, with photographs on almost every wall.
Dotted with fireplaces and old books, it has a cozy, homey feel.
One of the biggest changes to The Crown occurred on the second floor, which has now been renamed 'Charlie's Den'.
Its top floor was once used as a function room, but has now been converted into a restaurant.
Jan offers a menu focused on “classic British traditional dishes with a premium twist” and uses fresh ingredients.
Three types of pies are served daily, as well as classics such as scampi and chicken in the basket, and a new chef specializing in pies and British cuisine has been added.
When asked what he liked best about the pub, Jean said it was the fact that he started working at the pub in 1999 and worked behind the bar at The Crown 25 years ago.
In short, this renovation is a “passion project” for him.
