The Ogun State government has announced plans to partner with technology giants Microsoft, Google and Meta to train youth in emerging technologies and strengthen the digital economy.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Information, Communication Technology and Cybersecurity, Senator Shuaib Salisu, disclosed this during the formal opening of the training at OgunTechHub, Abeokuta, according to a statement on Friday.
“This empowerment will be an opportunity for small businesses and young people who want to gain relevant technology skills that will enable them to become independent and upgrade to digital marketing,” Saris said.
“This program, implemented through GetFundedAfrica Technologies in partnership with Microsoft, Google and Meta, will restore Nigeria’s economic situation because the nation has the potential to drive the program to achieve the desired goals. .”
In his address, the Special Adviser on ICT, Dayo Abiodun, also called on the beneficiaries to get registered, trained, certified and start working immediately.
GFAT co-founder Adebowale Omololu said the state was chosen because of its business-friendly atmosphere, among other things.
