March is Women's History Month, celebrating the achievements of women across all industries and professions. In this spirit, we look back at some of Ms. Ragan and her 23rd year acceptance speech for PR Daily's Top Women in Marketing Award. The honorees reflected on their careers and shared advice they would give to their younger selves. .
“The most successful people in the world are the ones who learned really quickly how to fail fast,” said Vanessa Mbonu, vice president of digital marketing and communications at the NAACP. “If you're going to learn something, fail fast and build slowly.”
“Don't burn bridges,” says Sue Dietrich, director of marketing for Stanley Brands. “You never know when your next chance will come. Listen to all the advice all these beautiful women gave everyone today.”
“I would tell her to own your expertise and recognize that you are a leader,” says April Augustine, director of marketing at Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) . “She deserves to be in every room she's invited to, and she deserves to have that room to herself, because she's amazing.”
“I want her to be bold, be herself, and never let anyone take away her joy,” said Alaia Davis McHenry, executive director of corporate marketing and corporate communications at Bristol-Myers Squibb. I would like to tell them not to do that.” “Then I gave her a big hug and said, 'Okay, sis.'”
