Short-form video hosting service TikTok has announced a series of new programs and tools designed to support creators and foster their success on the platform.
In Los Angeles, TikTok hosted its largest U.S. creator summit to date, “For Creators: Future Formats Summit,” providing creators with valuable insights, training, and networking opportunities.
The summit aimed to help creators effectively leverage TikTok's monetization tools, understand new content formats and stay ahead of emerging trends.
A highlight of the event was the introduction of Creator Academy, a comprehensive education hub tailored to support creators at every stage of their journey with TikTok.
This new resource offers a wide range of educational materials, including courses, articles, videos, and insights covering topics such as account health, creation tools, content skills, monetization features, and more. Creator Academy gives creators at all levels access to valuable resources to help them realize their full potential on TikTok.
Enhanced resources and support
Recognizing the need for greater understanding of its monetization services, TikTok has announced that it is upgrading its Creator Portal to Creator Academy, an education hub that will provide creators with regularly updated resources and insights to help them succeed on the platform.
The Creator Academy is available in seven languages and provides guidance on various aspects of TikTok, from account wellness to creation tools and monetization features.
Introducing new and upgraded features
TikTok's Creativity program, now rebranded as the Creator Rewards program, is coming out of beta with enhancements aimed at rewarding high-quality original content creators. The program, which has seen a 250% increase in creator earnings over the past six months, will focus on rewarding content based on originality, watch time, search value and audience engagement.
Additionally, TikTok has seen a surge in viewership for long-form videos since the format was introduced in 2022. With users spending 50% of their time watching long-form content, TikTok creators now have more flexibility to express themselves and engage their audiences.
Expanded subscription opportunities
TikTok has announced that it is expanding its subscription program beyond live creators to invite-only creators. Offering exclusive perks like badges, personalized emojis, exclusive content and community communication, the feature aims to strengthen the connection between creators and their audiences while increasing revenue.
TikTok said it remains committed to ensuring a safe and positive environment for its community. All content on the platform must comply with TikTok's community guidelines and terms of use, and it has safety tools available to both users and creators.
“With these new initiatives, TikTok is empowering creators to turn their passions into careers and make a meaningful impact. By providing enhanced resources, new monetization tools and expanded subscription opportunities, TikTok said it is cultivating a vibrant community of creators and innovators on its platform,” the company said in a statement.
