The market will be open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will be open next Wednesday through Saturday during the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament.
MINNEAPOLIS — The Big Ten Makers Market in downtown Minneapolis is a one-stop shop for handmade goods, artwork, and unique finds featuring 50 local creators, Big Ten Conference alumni, live music and entertainment, and free fan entertainment. Face painting, photo opportunities, and more.
The market will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday when the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament is held, and Wednesday through Saturday next week when the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament is held downtown.
Right next to the City Center Makers Market is the Minnesota Champions Fan Zone. Fans can come shoot hoops and meet some of Minnesota's greatest Olympians.
This is the first time in the history of the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament that the event has been sold out. But in the Fan Zone, fans have a chance to win tickets every day.
Last year, Minneapolis set a Big Ten women's basketball tournament record with nearly 48,000 fans attending the tournament held at Target Center. Officials expect attendance to more than double this year to 109,000.
Downtown will continue to be the epicenter of Big Ten hoops next week as the men's tournament will be held in the city for the first time ever. Tickets are still available for the men's tournament.
