WARREN, Ohio – D5 Group, a minority-owned integrated marketing company, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.
D5 was founded by DeShawn Scott on February 12, 2014. The company's 10th anniversary celebration coincided with Black History Month and National Entrepreneurship Week.
D5 serves clients across the B2C sector, nonprofits, K-12 education, government agencies, and local governments, providing strategic and creative marketing solutions.
Scott, the D5 managing director, said the company complies with the Ohio Minority Business Enterprise, Diversity Growth and Equity Acceleration Program, and the Ohio Department of Transportation's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise. It said it demonstrates the company's commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within its business practices.
“This highlights our commitment to equity and excellence and paves the way for us to secure procurement opportunities,” he said.
Scott reflects on this anniversary.
“All D5 Group anniversaries are a testament to the strength, creativity and dedication of our teams,” he said. “It is also an opportunity to celebrate the important role of diverse businesses in our communities and the important contributions of Black entrepreneurship to our society.”
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, D5 has launched multiple initiatives to promote diversity and support ambitious young entrepreneurs, start-ups and established companies. This includes an audio series celebrating National Entrepreneurship Week featuring local business leaders from the Mahoning Valley.
One of our efforts is to continually celebrate entrepreneurship. This content features Mahoning Valley entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders who share their experiences and insights. They will be published on his D5 Podcast Studio social profiles (@thesoundu on Instagram and @soundunitedstudio on Facebook). A website has been set up that introduces the entire series.
Next up is the relaunch of Sundown Workshops, another learning and networking series focused on entrepreneurs, small business owners, and nonprofit managers. The workshop combines learning, networking, and “chilling out” with snacks and music. The goal is to free viewers from their own silos for his two hours after work. This is a monthly series from May to autumn.
Scott said another initiative, the Marketing Workshop, is nearby and important to him. Targeted at startups and emerging businesses run by minorities and women. Scott teaches his workshop on Marketing at Valley Partners.
