Chicago Red Stars President Karen Rietsow has named Kay Bradley as the club's new chief marketing officer, the club announced today. Bradley joined the Red Stars from US Soccer, where he served as Vice President of Marketing, leading integrated marketing, fan engagement and loyalty, content, brand development, and creative.
“I am excited to join the Chicago Red Stars as the club enters a new and exciting chapter in its history,” said Bradley. “I want to thank Karen for entrusting me with this position. I will work with Chicago's great athletes, fan base and key stakeholders to tell their stories and grow the Red Stars brand and fan base. I’m looking forward to doing it.”
“I couldn't be more pleased to welcome Kay to the Red Stars,” Lietzow said. “I had the pleasure of working with Kaye during my time at U.S. Soccer and saw some of the great initiatives she implemented with the department. I look forward to working with Kaye again. I look forward to seeing what she has in store for our players and the club.”
At U.S. Soccer, Kay led the development and execution of marketing campaigns for the men's and women's national teams. Ahead of the 2023 Women's World Cup, the U.S. soccer world has launched the slogan “Always Possible/Todo es Posible,'' which represents taking the initiative in charting your own future without being restricted by predetermined boundaries. This campaign expressed the diverse voices of athletes and fans, and the cyclical relationship in which they inspire each other.
During her tenure at U.S. Soccer, Bradley focused on connecting U.S. Soccer, its partners, and key soccer stakeholders with the current and future multicultural next generation of fans of the women's and men's national soccer teams. He was responsible for the growth of soccer in the United States. Expanding her fan base and creating massive fan engagement was one of her key priorities and accomplishments during her time with the federation.
Bradley was named a 2023 Game Changer by Sports Business Journal for his accomplishments in U.S. Soccer. In October, Sports Business Journal recognized the 13th annual class of Game Changers as leaders, entrepreneurs and decision makers in organizations across sports, from teams and leagues to networks, agencies and more.
As CMO of the Red Stars, Mr. Bradley will lead all marketing activities for the club to increase awareness of the Red Stars and grow the club's brand.
