Digital marketing professionals and marketing professionals in Nigeria have found themselves caught in a web of bureaucratic red tape as NIMN works with the Nigerian Police Force to enforce its will on unsuspecting practitioners.
Experts say targets of this onslaught include prominent professionals registered with prominent bodies such as Association of Digital Marketing Professionals of Nigeria (ADMARP) and Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN). .
In a statement signed by John Adjaye, Publisher and CEO of MARKETING EDGE, MARKETING EDGE said, “We introduce this as a commendable initiative to recognize the hard work of these outstanding digital marketing and marketing professionals. “It is extremely unfortunate that what was done could turn into harassment and unwarranted threats.” Because NIMN targets notable individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary resilience, dedication, and innovation in their respective fields. ”
“Instead of celebrating the achievements of these young star professionals, they are being made aware of the unwarranted harassment and humiliation they face at the hands of the Institute,” he said.
“As the digital technology industry continues to thrive, providing avenues for creativity and entrepreneurship, an unfortunate reality facing digital marketing professionals and marketing professionals is that they are unable to achieve professional growth and development. It is a climate of fear and uncertainty perpetuated by the very institutions tasked with promoting it.''
