Canva, the world's only all-in-one visual communications platform, unveiled its first European campus in London last month.
Canva founders Melanie Perkins, Cliff Obrecht, and Cameron Adams discuss the role the European market will play in the company's long-term efforts to remain the visual communications platform of choice. He also introduced the company's strategy for continued growth in this region.
Following Canva's acquisition of UK-based Flourish last year, the company also unveiled a variety of new ways Flourish's world-leading data visualization technology is being incorporated as part of Canva's core product experience. Flourish co-founder Duncan Clark is taking on a new role as Canva Europe Lead.
The European market has played a key role in Canva's growth since its launch in 2013, and is home to some of the company's fastest growing markets. Looking to diversify its product suite, Canva has embarked on a journey in recent years to expand its platform's core services and technology capabilities through a series of strategic acquisitions based in Europe.

Canva Affiliate Program
The Canva affiliate program, which has been a huge force for affiliate partners of all kinds over the past few years, is also undergoing some big changes.
Canva details the update: “As Canva continues to evolve, we have made the following decisions: Shift the focus of your affiliate program tWe salute individual content creators. This means ending support for non-creator partners in the program. ”
Canva defines individual creators as:
Individuals (not agencies) who create at least one piece of Canva-related content or training each month and have a social audience of at least 5,000 followers on any of the following channels:
- YouTube
- tick tock
You fit into one of the following personas:
- social media content creator
- workshop facilitator
- Webinar/Podcast Host
- course developer
Going forward, it is intended to place more emphasis on communities and individual content creators, and will have a significant impact on content-based and review partnerships looking to diversify their spend into other types of partners. Affiliates who have spent time building Canva's global brand presence may soon be ignored by this unusual short-term move.
