The Fashion industry is seeking an Email Marketing Specialist to define and oversee best-in-class customer segmentation and contact strategies across a suite of products including BoF Professional, BoF Careers, BoF Insights, and BoF Events.
By managing our customer engagement platform, Braze, and a global database of over 1 million customers, we provide coverage for first-party data integrity, customer segmentation, email deliverability, and testing and effectiveness. what I want you to do
As a key member of the Growth Marketing team, you will report to the Audience Development Director and be directly responsible for end-to-end management and optimization of Braze and email databases.
Balance operational best practices and customer insights while supporting broader teams to ensure first-party data integrity, determine customer segmentation and contact strategies, and improve email marketing effectiveness. Masu. You will also be responsible for managing and deduplicating VIP audience lists through our event marketing platform, Launch-metrics.
Although this role will not be directly responsible for creating and running campaigns, you will be expected to review all marketing emails (suggesting improvements) and assist in creating and running campaigns during peak periods.
Success in this role will enable you to:
- Oversee data privacy policies and ensure first-party data integrity.
- Proactively manage and segment your database so you can effectively build and target segments in line with your business goals.
- Work with Braze account managers and internal technology teams to oversee the Braze platform, optimize functionality, and leverage new features.
- Braze Manage relationships, spending, forecasts, and budgets to ensure email volume doesn't exceed budget tolerances
- Optimize email deliverability according to best practices and become an internal advisor on customer engagement best practices, technologies, and trends.
- Define, execute, and optimize an effective “sunset” strategy for inactive customers
- Leverage customer insights to define your overall customer contact strategy and suggest testing frameworks and hypotheses to improve both effectiveness and efficiency
- Manage centralized customer contacts and campaign calendars, resolve scheduling conflicts, and ensure optimal send times.
- Become a subject matter expert on CRM/email marketing trends, best practices, and solutions.
- Manage your VIP audience list through our event platform, Launch-metrics, and support email execution as needed
- Support the editorial team to improve newsletter deliverability and effectiveness
- Work with your data team to build a series of customer engagement dashboards to provide enterprise-wide visibility into key engagement metrics such as segment performance, email deliverability, and click-through rates.

Who are you
An experienced email marketing specialist who focuses on operations rather than campaign execution. You will have hands-on experience managing large customer databases within a customer engagement, CRM, or marketing automation platform, as well as extensive experience overseeing high-level management. No fashion industry experience is required, but you do need the ability to thrive in a fast-paced scale-up environment and the following skills to set you up for success.
- End-to-end hands-on experience managing and operating customer engagement, CRM, and email marketing platforms (ideally including Braze).
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Confidence in suggesting improvements to email copy and, ideally, the ability to write compelling email copy when required.
- Comprehensive understanding of customer database management and segmentation
- A comprehensive understanding of email deliverability and how to optimize for success
- Working knowledge of first-party data hygiene factors, best practices, and data privacy regulations.
- Deep experience in overseeing and optimizing high-frequency, high-volume email campaigns and newsletters (200,000+)
- Proven history of devising and evolving customer engagement strategies and optimization roadmaps based on customer insights, testing, and analysis.
- Experience managing and deduplicating email lists in Excel (or similar).
- Advanced data literacy, including the ability to track, analyze, and report on key customer engagement metrics and collaborate with data teams to define KPI dashboard requirements.
- Ability to manage budgets and create and maintain reliable volume and spending forecasts.
- Effective stakeholder management, positive attitude, and willingness to work as part of a small, growing team with the ability to vary workload according to priorities.
