elizabeth samuels I'm a web designer at Salterra Digital Marketing. AZF had a chance to talk with Samuels about herself and her business.
AZF: What is your “motto in life”?
ES: “The mighty oak tree was but an acorn that held up the ground.”
AZF: Did you always want to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize it was the right path for you?
ES: “My husband was very persuasive early on in our relationship and we have remained self-employed in three separate businesses for over 20 years.”
AZF: How do you feel most supported?
ES: “I have a business coach who helps me implement ideas. I try to use critical thinking to verbalize things and ideas, which fosters a collaborative environment for me. ”
AZF: What motivates you to keep going while embracing the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?
ES: “My husband is my business partner and has invested a lot of time and energy into what we're building, evaluating and reconnecting to keep us aligned. That keeps us motivated. I recommend having friends who understand what it means to be an entrepreneur.
AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.
ES: “I love waking up early and sitting quietly on the backyard patio with my husband and dog.”
AZF: What is one piece of advice you would give to young entrepreneurs just starting out?
ES: “I highly recommend that new entrepreneurs establish a strong support network. Your net worth is directly related to your network. Additionally, the quality of the people you surround yourself with can significantly increase your net worth. You can overcome many scenarios (rich and difficult).”
AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?
ES: “It sounds so cliché, but I really love helping people. The creativity of designing and marketing a business is fun for me. I loved being an entrepreneur when my children were young. I love the flexibility it has given me, allowing me to stay home while my kids are growing up, and even now that they are older, I have the flexibility to manage my time in a way that works best for our family. There is a sex.”
