An April message posted on the Texas A&M Chancellor's website included the future use of 164 full-time equivalent employees tasked with building the university's brand.
This followed the presence of A&M's new vice president for marketing and communications at the April meeting of A&M's Faculty Senate.
Ethan Braden cited President Mark Welsh's goal of making A&M a “regular in the national conversation.”
Braden used two words to describe A&M's upcoming efforts to get its message to its target audience.
One word was “fascinating.” “Whether it's your studies, whether it's your classes, whether it's season tickets, whether it's working at A&M, whether it's moving to College Station, whether it's attendance, anything in the field of marketing. When we present something, can we not agree that it should be captivating? It's our job to excite and engage people.”
Another word was “amazing.” “Being a brand worth noting or worthy of attention.”
