About the role
Marketing and Student Recruitment is looking for a talented Digital Marketing Specialist (internally known as a Marketing Automation Specialist) to join our passionate team at Flinders University.
In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and optimizing digital marketing campaigns that support the university's marketing and student recruitment goals. Digital Marketing Specialists work with internal stakeholders, including creative studios, digital content producers, and student recruitment teams, to develop content and assets related to various campaigns.
As a Digital Marketing Specialist, you will also have the following responsibilities:
- Create, build, and manage email marketing campaigns of varying complexity and scale to nurture prospective students and convert them into students.
- Work with your team to ensure you receive relevant data and use it in your campaigns.
- Leverage A/B testing to increase conversion rates, return on investment (ROI), email and website click-through rates (CTR), and open rates.

Digital marketing specialists are highly skilled and have experience using CRM systems and marketing automation software (preferably Marketo) within complex organizations. We are committed to delivering optimal, targeted, and personalized messages to foster positive professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and achieve student growth.
To be successful in this role, you will also need to demonstrate:
- Higher qualifications in business, communications, marketing, information management and systems, related fields, or an equivalent combination of professional experience, education, and training.
- Experience in a marketing and/or recruitment environment focused on achieving business results.
- Ability to learn quickly, be tech savvy, and stay informed of changes in product features and services.
- Experience using Marketo.
