Gujarat International Finance Tech City (GIFT City) has appointed Saurabh Singhal as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Chief FinTech Officer (CFTO).
In his new role, Singhal will be responsible for making GIFT shine on the world stage and developing the national project into a national fintech innovation hub, according to Singhal on LinkedIn.

“With over 22 years of marketing and commercial leadership experience in the enterprise and retail sectors, I am passionate about driving GIFT City's next phase of growth,” Singhal said on LinkedIn.
“We are fortunate to be part of a visionary project to build a brand new city with world-class infrastructure and regulatory framework.”
Prior to his new role, he was Group Head of Marketing and Martech for Institutional Banking at DBS Bank in Singapore for over four years.
At DBS Bank, he was responsible for transaction banking, small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), corporate and institutional segments, and managed regional marketing budgets and teams. He was also responsible for his 360-degree marketing planning and execution across the customer lifecycle.
He also served as Head of Marketing for Private Bank and NRI Bank and Head of Marketing for Consumer Bank at DBS Bank.
“After more than five years and nine months, my amazing journey with DBS has come to an end. On my last day, I look back on this journey and am filled with immense gratitude and a heavy heart,” Singhal said. said on LinkedIn. I got off.
“When I made the switch from technology to banking, it was a no-brainer. I had no idea what to expect, but DBS exceeded all expectations. I have had the opportunity to work in marketing roles across consumer banking, wealth banking, and institutional banking, where I have met talented colleagues and inspiring leaders and mentors. “It was more fulfilling than last time,” he added.

Mr. Singhal's other roles include APAC advisory board for the CMO Council, regional board member for The Marketing Society, head of APAC marketing for Jabra, and head of APAC enterprise marketing for Juniper Networks.
Gujarat is not the only city keen to develop and become a hub. Closer to home, the real estate and infrastructure division of Johor Corporation (JCorp), J Land Group (JLG), and Alps Global Holding (ALPS) are promoting Malaysia as a major player in the global biotechnology sector. It is reported that they are working together to position the company.
Their collaboration will accelerate to establish a biotechnology hub in Johor. The hub reportedly aims to generate an estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM980 million and will be positioned as Malaysia's own “Silicon Valley”.
