Gupshup announced the appointment of Salim Ali as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Based in Silicon Valley, Salim will lead full-stack marketing across the entire value chain and all routes to market. He has nearly 30 years of experience and will support Gupshup's global growth and expansion with the extensive suite of solutions that make up the Gupshup Conversation Cloud.
Having led large, globally distributed teams, Salim brings deep marketing experience building and growing business lines across large corporations and startups. Previously, Salim was the Chief Marketing Officer for WordPress VIP, where he was responsible for all aspects of marketing, from growing the WordPress brand, product marketing, new industry demands, and customer marketing. Prior to joining WordPress VIP, he held senior positions at SAP, Avalara, and Veritas Technologies, where he managed global teams in North America, Latin America, UK/EU, MENA, and APJ markets.
At Gupshup, we created compelling and inspiring brand and platform stories for the company's key audience segments, increased global demand generation, and built and expanded key GTM capabilities to advance customer marketing efforts. I will take the lead in expanding. This includes industry marketing, value messaging, ROI-based storytelling, and the marketing operations necessary to accelerate global expansion and growth.

Salim holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a master's degree in computer science from Louisiana State University. He is an avid movie buff who loves Hollywood and Bollywood productions alike.
