“During this heartbreaking and difficult time, our role as an international cultural organization is to promote diverse and complex stories, protect freedom of expression, and use film as a tool to build bridges and create dialogue with audiences around the world. I believe that this is the case,” said Pnina Halfon Lang. , CoPro Executive Officer. “In the face of a complex situation and future uncertainty, we at Copro are committed to continuing to promote and support independent documentary filmmakers in Israel. We believe it is extremely important to maintain relationships with our international colleagues as we share our voices and stories.”
The founding of CoPro 26 years ago is considered a turning point in Israel's documentary film industry, with Israel emerging as a major source of top-notch films and content for distributors in North America and Europe. Through CoPro's efforts, more than 650 co-productions have been signed and the Israeli production company has raised more than $40 million for local projects.
The nonprofit organization also operates a platform that provides continued access to Israeli producers and their projects.
