Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, has been criticized for visiting a military hospital in Kaduna state.
During his hospital visit, Prince Harry pledged to support injured soldiers.
However, some foreign reports said the duke left his wife Meghan in Abuja and traveled to a “dangerous area”.
Nigerian socio-political activist Rino Omokri condemned the report, saying Prince Harry should not have visited Nigeria if he had known it was “dangerous”.
In a post on X, Omokri accused Harry of stripping Nigeria of marketing and that he should return to the UK.
“This only makes Prince Harry look like a hero at the expense of Nigeria. If the Duke of Sussex felt Nigeria was 'dangerous', why did he visit?”
“He wasn't invited. He invited himself and his wife and set foot in Nigeria. Now, a publicist is painting Harry as a hero for visiting an insecure country.
“More people died from knife crime in London than from murders in Abuja. Check the facts: 244 people died from knife crime in the UK last year.
“The UK has become the knife crime capital of the Western world. If anywhere is considered dangerous, why should it be Nigeria and not the UK?
“Just last week, Daniel Anjorin, a 14-year-old boy of Nigerian descent, was murdered in a knife crime incident in London. How many British nationals have been murdered in Nigeria in the last 10 years? As far as I know, none. !
“Rather than promoting Nigeria as a dangerous country, Prince Harry should go save Britain from knife crime.”
