Cormac Ó Bruic from Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltacht founded the digital marketing company eContent in 2022 with Desiree Sánchez. This is the culmination of his long-standing interest in entrepreneurship and his five-year career in sports marketing.
And these two years of hard work have borne fruit. The company recently received Business All Star accreditation from the All-Ireland Business Foundation (AIBF) and Mr Cormack spoke on a panel at an event attended by around 100 businesses at the Longcote House Hotel in west Newcastle. “We're a marketing business, but it's more niche than that,” Cormack said of the concept behind eContent. “What we're doing is paid advertising, and we're talking about highly targeted traffic.
“Every day, we design and create marketing campaigns that deliver value to our customers, including increased online sales, brand awareness, and viewership.
“The idea has been in my head for a long time. I have always been interested in entrepreneurship and wanted to work for myself, and for five years until 2022 I worked in the field of sports marketing. .
“The main reason I started this business was because I wanted to help small businesses that don’t have the budget for a whole marketing department or paid advertising department. That’s the most satisfying part… getting the most value.” I think it's a business that has a website and wants to get targeted traffic.”
The company was founded less than two years ago and initially focused on distilleries. Distilleries and breweries remain the core of our customer base, but we are already expanding and opening up to other industries. The company currently has 10 customers, and Cormack explained that it recently worked with a customer from as far away as Perth, Australia, and will soon welcome its first employee.
Cormack, who considers himself a little closer to home than Australia, is a native Irish speaker and insists he is always open to helping clients through the mother tongue he has spoken throughout his life.
Looking to the future, he hopes this certification will further stimulate the company's growth.
“This is the first certification we have received and it was a great moment for us personally to receive certification from a national body. It shows that we are on track. “It gives me peace of mind,” he said. “It was a very proud moment, and I will always cherish it.”
