Sam Houston Race Park announced the hiring of David Palomo as marketing director. A graduate of the University of Houston, he has over 10 years of experience in marketing, special events, brand awareness, social media and promotions.
Most recently, Palomo partnered with Landry's Inc. and helped manage the branding and marketing of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Rusty Pelican, and Mai Tai Bar. Collaboration in the food and beverage industry as Sam Houston Race Park's Winner's Circle Restaurant and Jockey Club have attracted thousands of patrons who enjoy meal combinations while watching live coverage of thoroughbred and quarter horse races. His experience in is important.
Additionally, Palomo entered into a seven-year partnership with the 2017 and 2022 World Series champion Houston Astros to facilitate community outreach and drive customer loyalty to the team and its external events. He remains an active member of the University of Houston Alumni Association.
Palomo will oversee marketing, group sales, sponsorship and public relations at the northwest Houston destination, which opened on April 24, 1994 as Texas' first Class 1 racetrack.
