Bosses at Clacton Pier are looking at improving the site's office space and meeting rooms, as well as providing a workshop for technical support teams and arcade engineers.
New training rooms will also be installed around the attraction as part of the investment plan, which began with the construction of a new building next to the log slide in 2022.
Construction is also well underway on four new offices, two meeting rooms and a reception area in space previously used for storage and facilities.
The staff room on the west side of the pier will be expanded to include additional seating, a new outdoor seating area and bike racks.
General manager Harry Peake said huge investment had been made in visitor attractions over the past few years but now it was time to upgrade facilities for staff.
“While the service we provide to our customers has improved tremendously, we must not forget our employees, who are key to our business,” he said.
“Their needs are very important to us and we have a major project underway that we expect to complete by the end of the year.
“Our technical support team, carpenters and painters are already in the new workshop area, while the ride management offices and training facilities are being completed but are not yet habitable.”
The seaside attraction has also appointed its first learning and development manager.
This position is designed to support employees to maximize their chances of career success, from the interview stage to onboarding orientation and ongoing development.
A new induction programme will be created along with a training and development plan for management, followed by departmental training.
“The move is designed to not only support staff but also to bring greater consistency to our operations and the level of service we provide to the public,” Peake said.
Clacton Pier is looking forward to a busy half-term offering guests a unique dinosaur experience.
A free fireworks display will be held on Sunday, May 26th at 9pm.
