About the role
The Marketing and Student Recruitment department is seeking a talented Digital Marketing Specialist (internally known as a Marketing Automation Specialist) to join a passionate and growing team at Flinders University. In this position you will be responsible for implementing and optimizing digital marketing campaigns that support the University's marketing and student recruitment goals. Reporting to the Digital Marketing and Automation Lead, you will ensure the University's Customer Relationship Management platform (CRM) and other third-party tools are utilised to deliver the most relevant, targeted and personalised messaging to students and prospective students at the right time during their academic journey.
As a Digital Marketing Specialist you will also be responsible for:
- Designing, building and managing email marketing campaigns of various complexity, including creating workflows, setting triggers and monitoring campaign performance.
- Leverage A/B testing, adjust campaign workflows, improve audience segmentation, and tweak messaging to continually optimize your marketing campaigns.
- Ensure seamless integration between your marketing automation platform and other systems to enable unified reporting.

As a Marketing Automation Specialist, you will be highly skilled and have experience using CRM systems and marketing automation software (preferably Marketo) within a complex organization. You will possess excellent attention to detail, proficient problem-solving skills, the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize tasks as needed. You will develop good professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be committed to delivering optimal, targeted, personalized messaging to achieve student growth.
To be successful in this role, you must also demonstrate the following competencies:
- Ability to learn quickly, be technologically savvy and stay current on changing product features and services.
- Extensive experience in a marketing and/or recruiting environment with a focus on marketing automation.
- Experience with Marketo (highly preferred).
