Lecturers on the Digital Marketing and Digital Marketing MSc courses at Shannon University of Technology (TUS) Athlone campus are again inviting businesses from the Midlands region and beyond to work with TUS Digital Marketing students on a series of live digital marketing and consulting projects in the 2024/25 academic year, helping to fill digital marketing resource gaps as part of an innovative ‘live’ capstone project.
Now in its seventh year, this highly successful initiative enables students to work with real businesses to set and achieve strategic digital marketing goals while gaining valuable, industry-relevant, practical experience.
Students on TUS’s Bachelor of Business (Hons) in Digital Marketing and MSc in Digital Marketing programmes will develop and implement authentic digital marketing strategies for participating businesses under the guidance of experienced digital marketing lecturers and practitioners.
“We've designed this programme with the digital needs of the industry firmly in mind. While technology advances, there is still a huge skills gap in businesses and a lack of technically skilled graduates to leverage digital skills within their organisations,” explained Louise Murray, Senior Lecturer in the School of Business and Hospitality at TUS' Athlone campus.
This successful academia-industry collaboration has seen past students collaborate with a range of companies including DPD Ireland, Midlands 103, Panelto Foods, Zinkworks, Ganlys of Athlone, Mersus Technologies, Alexion Pharmaceuticals, O'Donoghue's Bakery, Buymedia and Fernhill Garden Centre.
Businesses interested in taking part in the programme should complete an expression of interest form at https://tus.ie/faculty-business-hospitality/live-digital-projects/ .
