Digital marketing agency Mad Fish Digital is acquiring brand-building marketing agency Grady Britton. Together, the two companies will provide mission-driven clients with end-to-end marketing and communications solutions to accelerate their business growth and connect with their audiences.
Founded in 2006 to serve B2B and B2C clients across a range of industries, Mad Fish Digital develops complete digital marketing solutions using cutting edge digital advertising technology, SEO and analytics. Owners Ben and Corrie Herman sought a strategic partnership to expand Mad Fish Digital's values-based, ethical marketing system and digital services and found Grady Britton to be the perfect fit.
For nearly 50 years, Grady Britton has specialized in strategic brand development and expression with a mission to “make today better than yesterday.” Co-owners Paige Campbell and Andy Askren have built a full-service model built on award-winning creative, brand and content strategy, media planning and buying, and PR. With little overlap in services, the two agencies offer clients a full suite of integrated marketing and communications expertise.
“The talent and work produced at Grady Britton is unmatched in thoughtfulness, innovation, impact and creativity,” says Madfish CEO Ben Herman. “From our perspective, the combination of Grady Britton and Madfish, agencies that are also committed to making a real difference through their work, will maximize the chances of our smart clients making a lasting impact in their fields. Our business approaches are extremely well aligned, and we are confident and excited about the challenging work this combination will inspire for our teams, our clients and the community at large.”
Both companies are certified B Corporations and share a commitment to the triple bottom line: people, planet and profit. Grady Britton was Portland's first creative agency to become certified in 2015, and Mad Fish followed suit in 2018.
“After getting to know Ben and Cory, it was clear that our businesses and cultures are aligned in their mission to be a force for good, and with the expanded services we can now offer, we believe this combination will resonate with many great brands,” said Paige Campbell of Grady Britton.
Mad Fish and Grady Britton will combine under the ownership of Corrie and Ben Herman and will operate as strategic partners for the foreseeable future. Paige Campbell will serve as President of Grady Britton and Andy Askren will serve as Creative Director. The acquisition brings together a team of 46 people headquartered in Portland and spread across 10 states.
Over the coming year, agency leaders will be exploring other opportunities to streamline operations and integrate business processes behind the scenes, all while delivering results for clients and supporting the career development of their employees.
