Costa Coffee Malaysia has appointed advertising and public relations firm Havas to roll out its marketing, creative and social media campaigns across the country.
Havas Malaysia will lead the coffee chain's digital strategy, social media, content creation, trade marketing and in-store asset development.
“We are looking forward to what 2024 will bring. Mr. Havas’ appointment will see us embark on an aggressive growth strategy to further strengthen our brand relevance locally while maintaining our international credibility.” ” said Lim Ju Lee, Marketing Director of Costa Coffee Malaysia.
UK-based Costa Coffee entered Malaysia in 2019 in partnership with franchisee Gapurna Permai, opening two stores at Langkawi International Airport. In August 2019, Gapurna Permai announced that it would invest RM100 million ($23 million) to open more than 100 stores across the country by 2024, mainly in shopping centers and transport hubs.
Costa Coffee's footprint in Malaysia currently consists of 15 brick-and-mortar stores alongside over 650 self-service smart cafe machines.
Havas will take over social media marketing responsibilities for Costa Coffee Malaysia from Ogilvy, who led the coffee chain's content creation and social media campaigns for a period of 12 months from February 2023.
