How we lead:
Interscope is currently hiring a Director of Digital Marketing for our Santa Monica, California office. The director will spearhead digital marketing efforts for the label's hip-hop and R&B roster. They will be responsible for building the digital, mobile, and social elements of the artist's overall marketing plan. This includes, but is not limited to, digital promotion, development and optimization of the artist's website, fan acquisition and engagement, and creation/implementation of digital tools and products to increase fan base. . Fan engagement, paid media campaigns, etc.
How to make:
- Define, plan, and execute digital marketing campaigns for your artist roster.
- Lead the creation and utilization of all artist websites and social networks, including posting updates, news, and content. The artist will also be involved in the development of her website and other digital and mobile protocols such as wireframes, user experience design, and feature requests.
- Contribute to the design and creation of digital assets for artists, including photo and video content.
- Thorough research and word-of-mouth analysis of the artist community (read and analyze blogs, other artists' sites, etc.).
- Quantify the success and efficiency of your digital promotions, paid media campaigns, e-commerce efforts, social engagement, and partnerships using a variety of analytical tools.
- Manage relationships with top-level artists, managers, and other partners.
- Discover new sites and outlets, promote your artists, and maintain relationships with key sites and partners.
- Filter and present analysis results to internal departments.
- Measure and analyze performance across campaigns and provide insights and key learnings to other departments.
- Track specific milestones such as email, social and advertising conversion rates, views, number of views, number of fans acquired, campaign spend, and ROI against project goals.
- Generates direct-to-consumer revenue from recorded music sales, merchandise, ticket sales, advertising, and subscriptions.
- Create and manage database marketing campaigns to find new fans and optimize conversions.
- Identify viral digital word-of-mouth marketing opportunities to drive traffic, gain fans, and increase brand awareness for artists.
- Collaborate with visual and art departments on digital content creation, optimization, and scheduling.
- Works with internal departments (marketing, programming, production, press, research, and program companies) to implement effective interactive strategies.
Bring your vibe:
- Must have at least 7-10 years of digital marketing experience in the music industry, preferably with a major label.
- Strong analytical background and ability to create and update reports.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams (excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills).
- We are looking for ambitious individuals who require minimal direction and are self-motivated.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Each week, candidates will help present their campaigns to a wide audience and contextualize their results.
- Experience in social strategy and paid media planning preferred.
- You should be proficient in using Excel, PowerPoint or Keynote, Photoshop, video editing software (Premiere or Final Cut), and comfortable with collaboration and asset management tools such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, and Basecamp.
- Must thrive in a team environment, but must be able to take initiative and work independently.
- Candidates should have good computer knowledge of various music applications and good knowledge of the Internet.
- Candidates must be motivated, creative, innovative, organized, detail-oriented, and accustomed to working under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
