Previously in beta for its creativity program, TikTok has officially launched its monetization system, the Creator Rewards Program.
After announcing it earlier this month, TikTok has officially launched its Creator Rewards Program, a monetization program aimed at encouraging creators to post longer content for cash.
Long videos were released on TikTok in 2022, and interest in long videos has been growing ever since. TikTok says its community now spends half of its time watching videos longer than one minute.
A new monetization program rewards creators who post more than one minute of high-quality, original content. It will use a “reward formula that is optimized to focus on her four key metrics: originality, watch time, search value, and audience engagement.” TikTok lists how these factors affect the amount you pay.
- originality It refers to high-quality content unique to creators, showcasing their perspectives and creative thought processes in a way that resonates with the community.
- Play time Consider both total play time and completion rate. Rather than favoring accounts with an excessive amount of video, the new formula rewards accounts with clear and engaging content.
- audience engagement includes likes, comments, and shares, all of which contribute to increasing the value of a creator's content within the program.
- search value A metric assigned to content based on popular search terms. Content that aligns with in-demand search topics increases value for searchers. To find inspiration for content that resonates with viewers on TikTok, creators can use the recently announced Creator search insights Tools for a deeper understanding of popular topics in search.
- The new system automatically rewards creators based on their account's ad value, determined by the community's ad watch time.
The name change adds a new dashboard with more insights and the latest analytics and data to help creators deeper analyze how their content is performing. As shown in the image above, the dashboard displays estimated rewards, eligible views, and program eligibility. There is also a page dedicated to RPM and limited video viewing, with detailed information such as viewing trends, insights, and explanations. Finally, you will also see a record of your previous payments and upcoming earnings.
Creator Academy, a new educational hub that replaces Creator Portal, is filled with resources, courses, articles, videos, and insights, as well as information about programs and rules. Creator Academy is available in seven languages, with more to come in the future. This can be found in the Creator Center web app and dashboard.
The updated dashboard and Creator Academy will be available in the coming weeks.
Finally, we've improved the monetization module within the in-app creator tools. It shows all the ways creators can get paid, including an overview of all TikTok's monetization services and successful creators using various features and tools. There are also customized insights, personalized recommendations based on the author's content, and a set of customized case studies.
