Chicken Rice Shop has appointed Wai Kuan Wong as its new head of marketing and customer experience.

Since joining the company, she has focused on strengthening business operations, advancing and redefining commercial marketing strategies, enhancing customer journeys and experiences for dine-in and online journeys, digging into data for better business recommendations, and predictive marketing. Previously, Mr Wong spent just over four years with Malaysia Airlines. She joined the team in 2019 as her Global Head of Marketing and was promoted to Global Head of Marketing for the airline in 2023.

“My four years at Malaysia Airlines have been a rewarding four years, as we navigated the most challenging period in the airline industry during the pandemic.Despite countless long nights and uncertainties, Malaysia Airlines remains committed to learning and growing. It was a valuable place for us,” Wong said.
“During the pandemic, we all transitioned to remote work and were able to achieve significant increases in productivity and financial reserves. Leading up to the negotiations, we played a key role in strengthening our business. Even in the face of challenges, we kept our team motivated, giving our best to the company, and providing support to our colleagues at home and abroad. I continued to do so,” Wong said.
She has worked with her team on many brand campaigns including 'MH ASMR', 'MH Artisan', a series of travel the world brand campaigns, 'MH safety' videos and lifestyle e-commerce portal, Journey It added that it was carried out. Malaysia Airlines Group.

Before working for Malaysia Airlines, Ms Wong worked in themed attraction resorts and hotels for just over eight years. She joined the company as Vice President of Group Marketing and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Group Marketing in 2016.
During her career, she has also held key roles in companies such as Maybank, Bates Malaysia, TBWA\Worldwide and Dentsu Malaysia.
The news comes on the heels of Malaysia Airlines and Manchester United signing a multi-year partnership that will see the airline become the club's official commercial airline. The partnership was announced by Isam Ismail, Group Managing Director of Malaysia Airlines' Malaysia Aviation Group, at an industry trade show in Kuala Lumpur.
To mark the announcement, former Manchester United defenders Patrice Evra and Wes Brown flew to Kuala Lumpur last month to attend the event and share their experiences traveling the world both as players and as ambassadors for the club.
