Pattern Beauty, the textured hair brand founded by Tracee Ellis Ross, announced Friday that Tiffany Carter will join the company as its first chief marketing officer.
Carter joins Pattern Beauty from makeup artist Danessa Myricks' cosmetics brand of the same name, where she served as CMO. He previously held positions at Shiseido Americas and Coty Inc.

The news comes as the label plans its next phase of growth, with a series of new hires in 2023, including co-CEO Christiane Pendarvis.
In this role, Mr. Carter will oversee retail, brand and product marketing, as well as manage internal and external brand communications, including social media and influencer marketing.
“We hope to continue achieving this.” [the consumer] We are expanding our retail footprint and eliminating the idea that black hair care is a niche market,” Carter said.
Founded in 2019, Ellis Ross is majority owner of the business in partnership with brand incubator Beach House Group. The brand boasts numerous retail partnerships, including Sephora, Ulta Beauty, Boots, and most recently, Nordstrom.
