Director Julie Ogo expressed her disappointment with the Marianas Tourism Board on the MVA's official website, MyMarianas.com/, citing insufficient marketing efforts for Rota. Although this website is intended to be a comprehensive resource for travelers, it does not include substantive content that highlights Rota's beauty, pristine beaches, historical monuments, and unique tourist destinations. That's missing, Ogo said.
“The lack of marketing content on MyMarianas.com is unfortunate,” Ogo added. “The Marianas Tourism Board needs to strengthen its marketing strategy by continually updating its webpage. How can travelers learn about a destination without looking at photos of tourist attractions and historic sites? Do you want it?”
Ogoh, who is taking proactive steps to address the issue, said she has launched her own social media campaign to promote Rota. She encourages the use of the hashtags #BisitaLuta, #VisitTheMarianas and #MyMarianas and invites her social media audience, influencers and bloggers to share beautiful and amazing photos and experiences of Rota. She said the initiative aims to fill the promotional gap left by the MVA and highlight what makes Rota a must-visit destination.
“By failing to properly present Rota, we are missing an opportunity to attract tourists who are looking for exactly what our island has to offer: natural beauty, tranquility and rich history. “It will be,” Ogoh added. “It is important that the MVA invests more in showcasing what is special about the Mariana Islands. This will not only boost tourism, but also support the local economy and protect our cultural heritage. ” she said.
Ogo said her social media campaign has already gained traction, with numerous posts showcasing Rota's stunning landscapes, serene beaches and cultural heritage. She believes this grassroots effort will inspire her MVA to take immediate action by enriching the website with updated content such as high-quality photos, detailed descriptions, and engaging stories about Rota's tourist attractions. I hope it becomes.
