WHO recently released a new publication titled, “Restrictions on digital marketing of tobacco, alcohol, food, beverages and breast-milk substitutes: Existing approaches and policy options.” This technical paper explores how Member States are implementing digital marketing restrictions as part of broader marketing restrictions, describes current challenges specific to digital marketing, and presents policy options and approaches that Member States can adopt to strengthen the design and implementation of restrictions.
The WHO Public Health Law and Policy Unit (LAW) will host a webinar series to launch this new publication. The webinars will discuss the challenges posed by digital marketing and present policy options for legislation, surveillance and enforcement of restrictions.
