“I grew up in a family that wasn't wealthy, we didn't have a lot of money, so I was taught to work hard to get what I wanted,” he said.
This self-made millionaire in his 20s has shown the world that you don't need many resources to build your fortune. “I learned everything on YouTube,” he says. Kasra Dash, 26, of Manchester, who moved to the UK from Iran at the age of three, is now worth £3 million ($3.77 million). As a teenager, Kasra wasn't born into a wealthy family, so he decided to follow the philosophy of “fake it till you make it.”
“Growing up, my family wasn't rich and we didn't have much money, so I was taught to work hard to get what I wanted,” he said. He soon discovered digital marketing and spent hours watching tutorials and lectures on YouTube from people who seemed to have the knowledge. He realized he could gather the knowledge he needed through the internet, so he quickly took action.
Motivated, Dash decided to ask his father for a loan. With the money, he bought cars for £400 ($502.42) to £500 ($628.02) at Gumtree auctions, repaired them, and sold them for a profit. “That was my first foray into digital marketing – selling cars online and making a decent amount of money from it,” he told The Sun. He then decided to follow his passion and started web designing on a computer he bought with the money he made from reselling cars. Over the next few years, he continued to work on the side while also studying interactive media marketing at Edinburgh Napier University.
He completed the course in 2018 and started working with what he had. He initially made a little money in web design and also worked as a consultant. After a while, Kasra bought a link building agency and invested in a software business that was recently valued at £4.6 million ($5.78 million).
Since then, he's been enjoying a globetrotting lifestyle. He now travels the world speaking at events and conferences, often as the youngest person there. “I used to observe people online and learn from them, and I still do the same now, speaking at the same events like Affiliate World Dubai and Chiang Mai SEO Conference,” he says.
“The audience is usually older than me, and sometimes I’m one of the youngest people in the room, teaching people who have been in the industry for years new ways of doing their jobs. [digital marketing],” he added.
Kasra Dash, who is just beginning to make a name for himself, believes that to be successful you need a “high tolerance for stress.” “My lifestyle is stressful and a lot of people wouldn't want that, but it's what drives me,” he added. Dash also “firmly believes” that your stress level is directly related to how successful you are. For him, he wouldn't have it any other way. “If I wasn't doing this, I'd be bored. I need to keep my mind working. I don't feel like I'm missing out on the typical experience of being in my twenties. I work hard, but I also party hard,” he said.
