Walmart is Partnering with TikTok In 2020, a campaign called “Spicy Summer” was launched on BookTok, a TikTok community. It has received over 250 billion views from groups of readers discussing their favorite books.
Focusing on the romance and fantasy genres, the community developed a “hotness scale” to rate the spiciness of their favorite books, and Walmart created a limited edition Spicy Books hot sauce set as marketing to the BookTok community.
Packaged like a book, this unique collection contains five varieties of Melinda's hot sauces that span levels of heat, from mild to extra hot. In addition to Spicy Books hot sauces, customers can also shop Walmart's dedicated Spicy Summer landing page for a selection of summer books, fashion and accessories from the collection inspired by popular Spicy Books selections.
