3.5 billion web searches generate over £129 billion in e-commerce revenue in the UK every year (Statista), but the integration of AI into search platforms is transforming how customers find local businesses, and many are now jumping on the bandwagon.
Last year, LOCALiQ surveyed over 500 companies and found that 31% of companies need more training on artificial intelligence. 81.3% of respondents said that AI will not result in job cuts, and one-third said that AI will actually increase hiring.
This year's survey will explore further the impact AI is having on the industry and the ethics surrounding its use.
Frequent updates mean 68% of businesses feel their SEO strategy isn’t fully effective, and 38% say they need more SEO training than education on social media, content, and email marketing.
Additionally, 75% of businesses struggle to keep up with innovative marketing tactics, strategies, and technologies. Marketers report having difficulty accessing, organizing, and leveraging customer data, as well as understanding and defining their target audience.
With the world of digital marketing rapidly evolving, LOCALiQ believes this year’s report will help local businesses compare themselves to others and consider their current and future plans.
Nikki Broxup, Marketing Director at LOCALiQ, said: “We’re excited to launch this year’s State of Digital Marketing survey.
“The digital marketing landscape has changed significantly since our last survey, with artificial intelligence gaining further momentum and changing the way businesses are approaching their marketing strategies.
“We encourage all business owners and marketers to take part in this year's survey as your participation is crucial to getting a comprehensive picture of current digital marketing trends and challenges.”
“By contributing your insight and experience, you will help create a valuable resource for the entire industry.”
