Alabama State University will be offering a free digital marketing course from Aug. 1 to Sept. 5. The virtual course is designed to help entrepreneurs in the Montgomery and River Region area.
The Zoom class, hosted by ASU's Small Business Development Center, will teach participants how to use digital marketing to grow their business.
The SBDC offers a variety of courses that are free and open to the public. If you would like to enroll, please apply here.
The six-week program will provide businesses with the training, tools and networking to thrive in the world of digital marketing. Sessions will take place on Thursdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Andrea Rogers Mosley is the director of the SBDC and shared her perspective on the true purpose of the session.
“For our digital marketing course, the SBDC has partnered with GoDaddy to provide Alabama business owners with premium digital marketing curriculum, expert support and services,” Mosley said.
“Topics covered in the course include brand evaluation, designing a great website, creating site content, building an e-commerce and social media presence, and technical assistance with building a website,” Mosley said.
To participate, businesses must show a business license, certificate of existence, LLC paperwork, or other identification. Pre-registration and a survey are required prior to course enrollment.
“This course gives students the resources to create the website they've always wanted, empowering them to add their own content with confidence. They also receive two years of free web hosting, a domain name, business email and online technical support,” Mosley said.
“To participate in the program, companies must already be established, either as a new or existing business, and be headquartered in Alabama,” Mosley said.
