royal family
I pronounce your husband and whiff now.
Meghan's former Suits co-star Rick Hoffman claimed there was a “stink” during the Duchess of Sussex's 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.
A photo of the 53-year-old actor, sitting in St George's Chapel ahead of his wedding, with a look of disgust on his face, famously went viral.
“When you type my name into Google, this is what happens. [me] I look terrible,” he explained about the brief moment that became a meme on the Feb. 14 episode of Barstool Sports’ “Office Chick” podcast.
Mr Hoffmann recalled that he tried to remain calm as he was so excited about the momentous royal event, but there were “cameras everywhere” watching him.
“And as time went on, something started to smell really bad,” he recalled.
The “Bernie Mac Show” alum revealed that at the time, she covered her nose with coconut- and vanilla-scented moisturizer because she was “very sensitive” to smells.
“I'm trying to cut out the smell,” he said of the stench, before asking, “How can I get away from this stupid face?”
In the courtroom drama, Hoffman played attorney Louis Litt, a partner in the fictional New York City-based law firm Pearson Hardman LLP, and Markle played lovable paralegal Rachel Zane.
The USA Network series aired for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019, but Markle quit in 2018 before marrying Prince Harry.
However, the former actress continued to keep in touch with her former castmates, including Sarah Rafferty, Patrick J. Adams, Gina Torres and Gabriel Macht, who attended her royal wedding.
Despite her fond memories of the show, Ms. Markle turned down an offer to reunite with her former co-stars at this year's Golden Globes, Page Six reported last month.
“Suits” has been making a huge comeback since it became available to stream on Netflix in mid-2023.
The cast has kept in touch since their return to popularity, but Torres, 54, said the duchess was not included in the group messages.
“When it all ended, we were all texting each other. Yes, our text threads are insane right now. So it's very exciting,” she told Variety in January. The cast added that they did not have Markle's phone number.

Markle herself expressed her excitement at finding success again four years after the show ended.
“Isn't that wild?” she told Variety on the red carpet at the magazine's “Power of Women” event in Los Angeles in November 2023.
“It was such a pleasure to work with such an amazing cast and crew. We really had a great time. It lasted seven seasons, so it was quite a long time.”
She added, “But it's hard to find shows these days where you can binge-watch so many episodes, so maybe that has something to do with it. But good shows last forever.”
Markle may not be aiming to return to the Suits spinoff, but she is clearly on her way to returning to Hollywood.
Markle and Prince Harry, 39, retired from royal duties in 2020 and now live in Montecito, California, with their two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.
From founding their Archewell production company to Markle's upcoming podcast to their recently launched website Sussex.com, the couple has been slowly building an entertainment empire.
