The Creativity Program is intended to serve as a replacement for Creator Fund TikTok, which was established in 2020. While its monetization efforts helped some short-form stars, the fixed reward pool made it a flawed solution for the rapidly growing platform.
To offer its community “higher earning potential,” TikTok introduced a creativity program that rewards creators who publish videos that are at least one minute long. Viewing time is a key factor in determining how much money creators earn from their shows.

It served as a testing ground for other TikTok products. Brazil is one of the first regions to receive access to TikTok Music, an audio-oriented service that has not yet debuted in the United States. TikTok has started pushing forward with e-commerce in the UK as it looks to expand its lucrative TikTok Shop hub westward.
However, in this case, the United States was the testing ground, with subsequent rollout dates set for other countries. Some US creators were admitted to the beta version of the creativity program in February, with the monetization option enabled for all US users in late 2023.
As creativity programs have expanded, the criteria for participation have remained relatively unchanged. To be eligible, creators must be over 18 years old, have at least 10,000 followers and at least 100,000 views in the past 30 days.
