Lately, here in our Detroit office, we've found ourselves with a little extra time on our hands. As such, we find ourselves spending countless hours browsing the interwebs looking up Corvettes for sale. I'm not currently looking into what to add to my garage, but I did find some wild Corvettes currently for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
In this episode, This or thatSo let's take a look at the 2009 Valara C6 Corvette and the 2020 Pandem Widebody C8. Both of these cars represent the boldest of the bold body kits available in their respective generations. Each is a significant departure from traditional stock formats, and both come with his six-figure price tag.
Like the 1953 Corvette, the 3LT Pandem C8 is finished in white over a red interior. However, the similarities end there. From there, it was massaged with a widebody kit, squared-off wheel openings, and a huge rear wing. Michelin tires wrap his gold and carbon fiber Rohana forged wheels. Exposed zippers and even more carbon fiber complete the aggressive look of this his C8. Inside, you'll see an interior that looks almost stock.
The ad is very brief, but you can see that this car has only 3,873 miles on the odometer, and also has an IPE exhaust and air suspension. The seller also notes that the fax machine was clean. This wild C8 of his is for sale in Palatine, Illinois for $105,000.
The 2009 Valarra C6 provides an interesting contrast to the Pandem C8. The edgy body kit retains little trace of the C6's past. Looking at the photos, it looks like it started out as a base red coupe. The exaggerated style makes this look like something out of a comic book. There are so many curves, edges, and openings that it's hard to know where to direct your eye first. The ad doesn't detail the wheel and tire setup, but it's easy to see that it's cartoonishly huge. I love the blue color, which contrasts beautifully with the black interior.
This listing is even less detailed than the C8, but we do know that it has an 805 horsepower cam supercharged engine. $115,000 and a road trip to Cordova, Tennessee can be yours.
So which car would you choose based on the limited information we have about each car? Given the unique look of each one, you already know your neighbor doesn't have it. , you'll be talking about your next Cars and Coffee as soon as you arrive.
The last public sale we found for the Pandem C8 was $148,500 at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale in 2021, but we couldn't find any public sale for the Valara C6. Either way, you can see that these builds aren't cheap and reflect the asking price. So if he has $100,000 burning a hole in his pocket, here he has two unique options.
