Sky UK & Ireland's Stephen van Rooyen has emerged as Ireland's most influential social media leader, according to a report by PR firm The Reputation Agency. The report marks the fourth year of the agency's leadership assessment program, which charts the role leaders play in organizational communications. The study revealed that a CEO is three times more likely to use his LinkedIn than his X (formerly Twitter) when engaging in work.
Of the 100 CEOs surveyed, 88 had a LinkedIn account, up from 64 last year, and by 2023, 31 out of 100 CEOs will have an Only 21 people were active. Activity – Number of posts published by the CEO. Half of all posts were related to the CEO's organization's products and services, 47 percent were about citizenship, 44 percent were about leadership, and 17 percent were about conduct and governance issues.
The report looked at the level of posts related to eight themes in Ireland last year: AI, climate change, data protection/cybersecurity, gender equality, housing, inflation, the Ukraine war, and Irish refugees. The most mentioned topic across CEO posts was climate change at 6% of all posts, followed by AI at 5%, gender equality at 4%, and data protection/cybersecurity, housing, and inflation at 1% each.
CEOs avoided posts about Ukraine and refugees, posting just seven and four posts respectively. Of the CEO's top 10 posts, 9% were about his AI.
