18-year-old arrested for assault in Market Square
Action News 4. Thank you, Yasmin. Arrested after brutal attack in market square. And the assault was caught on camera, the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office said. 18-year-old David Rivera turned himself in. He is accused of being part of the group that attacked the man last Friday. Deputies say the victim was punched repeatedly and then kicked in the face. One witness said the situation escalated quickly. I saw some people shouting, and at first I didn't think much of it, but suddenly, as I was preparing the bar, all of a sudden, as I was watching, they all gathered together, and , it was about 5 people. Just jump on top of someone right away. A second later, the situation gradually worsened. At first it seemed like more people were coming. Second, a few people stopped by and were about to disperse. But then they too were pushed aside and started back to square one. As a result, deputies say Rivera was then taken into custody, but was released after the victim left.But just 5 minutes later he was the victim and he was FOU

An 18-year-old boy has been taken into custody a week after a man was assaulted in Market Square. The Allegheny County Sheriff's Office said 18-year-old David Rivera is suspected of participating in the assault on February 23rd. Police say he was actually taken into custody a short time after the incident, but was released after police could not find the victim. The victim was eventually located and taken to the hospital. Rivera surrendered Friday morning at the municipal court building.
