Taylor Swift has re-recorded six albums since her back catalog was sold to a private equity firm, but which songs and albums are she going back to the studio to re-record?
Taylor Swift has a whopping 10 successful studio albums to her name and has re-recorded six of them, so she owns full rights to all of her work.
We've already heard the new version of “Fearless,” which added six new songs to the tracklist that weren't on the original EP, and her re-release of “Red” took us back to 2012.
Meanwhile, the July re-release of “Speak Now” with the ultimate sad girl tune “Dear John” got us all excited.
“1989 – Taylor's Version” is Travis Kelce's latest effort after his girlfriend (who had changed the lyrics for her new boyfriend) canceled the re-release just nine years after its original release, and fans couldn't wait to hear songs he'd never heard before. Why would Taylor Swift re-record an album?

She credits industry pal Kelly Clarkson and her father for telling her to “redo” all her old albums.

As of November 2022, Taylor will be able to officially begin re-recording Reputation, which was released in 2017. Taylor reportedly had to wait until November 2022 to legally re-record the music.
According to Rolling Stone, this is likely due to a common clause in their contracts that prevents them from re-recording songs until “two years after contract expiration or five years after commercial release, whichever is later.”
So “reputation” may come sooner than we originally thought…
